Objective:
- To develop and implement a shared vision of integrated comprehensive
delivery system to families and children.
- To increase parent training in parenting skills.
- To continue to review program activities and conduct planning activities
addressing priorities identified through the 2002 community assessment:
- Alcohol and Substance abuse
- Housing
- Cultural and Traditional Curriculum.
- All children will enjoy nutritious diets that support the development
of healthy bodies and minds.
- All children will develop positive self-concepts and a sense of
self-worth that provides the confidence, energy, and optimism enabling
them to live and learn to their full potential.
- All children will acquire communication skills, including language
skills, through a variety of rich, multi-sensory experiences that
foster learning and thinking.
- Children will grow up in stable nurturing families that are strengthened
through supportive communities.
- Families will possess the parenting skills and knowledge of resources
they need to ensure the well-being of their children.

| CTEAP/Higher Education |
Creation
and Purpose: The
Colville Tribal Education Assistance Program(CTEAP) was created by resolution
#1977-358 of the Tribal Council for the purpose of assisting enrolled
members of the Colville tribes who wish to pursue further education in
institutions of higher learning, business and commercial schools, vocational/technical
institutions, and technological schools. The Education Assistance Program
is intended to assist students enrolled either on campus or enrolled in
extension courses or regionally and/or nationally accredited institutions.
Graduate and Senior
level students are considered priority funding. |
College
Intern Program: Tribal
funded program to give college students work experience in their fields
of major, as well transferable as college credit. |
Resource
Center/Libraries:
The
Libraries serve the surrounding communities, to promote a learning environment
for public use that includes research, fiction/non-fiction, culturally
relevant books and computer access and study resources. |
Project
PRISM:
Project
PRISM is funded by the National Science Foundation and is a collaborative
effort between Washington State University, The Confederated Tribes of
the Colville Reservation, Lewis-Clark State College, and eight public
school districts including Columbia, Grand Coulee Dam, Inchelium, Okanogan,
Omak, Pullman, Spokane, and Wilbur. The Tribal Coordinator coordinates
several components of Project PRISM.
• to raise awareness among the public school teachers, administrators,
counselors, students, and parents of the culture of the Colville Tribe.
• to facilitate care awareness among the Native American students
and the school districts serving them, and to
• facilitate field trips, classroom visits, and community service
projects the will involve students and teachers with tribal professionals. |

| Employment & Training Services: |
E&T
program:
The
Employment & Training Services goal is to provide a more comprehensive
service to Tribal Members by providing employment and/or individualized
training or education plans to meet their goal. This plan is developed
from a comprehensive intake process. The Job Developer will recruit, interview,
assess, counsel, and individualize each service plan. Services are for
adult clients and eligible youth for special services. |
Childcare
program:
The Child Care &
Development Program offers services to eligible families for childcare
payment assistance, licensed childcare center services, and health and
safety monitoring of providers.

Vocational
Rehabilitation Program:
The
goal is to ensure the eligible American Indians with disabilities receive
vocational rehabilitation services and achieve employment outcomes consistent
with their unique strengths, resources, abilities, capabilities and interests
in a culturally relevant service program.

| J.O.M:
The purpose
of JOM is to provide training for Indian parents, parent committees, Tribal
officials and school personnel to increase their understanding of the
Program |
Main
objectives:
1)
To ensure that Indian children receive the educational opportunities that
would otherwise be provided.
2) To provide supplementary financial assistance to meet the unique and
specialized education needs of Indian Children. |
