Kathy Desautel,
Chairperson
CTSC Accountant
Colville Tribal Enterprise Corporation (CTEC)
Kathy has been happily married for
over 25 years and has four children and two wonder grandchildren.
Kathy resides in Inchelium, and is very active in her community.
Whenever something happens in the Inchelium community, she is
usually one of the key persons who are making things happen.
After her family, education has been
and will always be, her first and foremost priority. She is a
member of the Inchelium School Board where she has served as
chairperson on a number of occasions. She has been involved
with athletics at all levels, from player to parent and then on to
coach.
Kathy began her professional career
as a file clerk in the Accounting Department of the Colville Tribe.
The desire to extend her profession beyond and entry-level position
convinced her to return to college, where she attended in the
evenings and worked during the day. She was hired by the Tribe
as an accountant where she served successfully for over 20 years.
Her understanding of professional standards and guidelines enabled
her to rise within the organization. She was promoted to the
position of Financial Officer for the Colville Tribe and served that
position for five years.
Kathy decided the pressure of
managing a department in such a large organization was beginning to
take away from her ability to be involved with her community.
She applied for, and was hired in an accounting position at the
headquarters of the Colville Tribal Enterprises Corporation.
She was selected as a member of the corporate Safety Committee,
where she is instrumental in the formation of safety committees
throughout the fourteen enterprises of the CTEC organization.
The desire to improve herself academically continued as she attended
safety classes and became a certified Safety and Health Specialist.
