HWY 21 Temporary Closure, July 15 and 16
The contractor for WSDOT is planning to begin replacement of the damaged bridge on HWY 21 starting on the morning of Monday, July 15th. The planned closure should only last for Monday and Tuesday, July 15th and 16th. The location is at the Gold Creek bridge, between mile markers 145 and 146.
The contractor will relocate the temporary bridge to a temporary crossing, and then start on a permanent replacement for the damaged bridge. The highway SHOULD reopen on Wednesday, July 17th, but reopening that morning is not guaranteed.
If you commute through this area, or plan to travel on HWY 21 north on these dates, please plan for an alternate route.
